ReadMe! Terms of Use

Effective 1 August 2026

Your book is yours. You may import and read supported local books normally without an account or Premium. Premium unlocks unlimited use of ReadMe!’s focus and speed-reading modes with your imported books.

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms govern the ReadMe! iOS app, readmei.com and v2.readmei.com, optional accounts, cloud sync, and Premium services (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Spritz Holding LLC, 6300 Sagewood Dr, Ste H502, Park City, UT 84098, USA.

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the ReadMe! Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Apple’s App Store terms also apply to purchases and use of the iOS app.

ReadMe! only collects pseudonymous usage information after you choose to share it, to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You do not need an account to open the app, use the sample book, import a supported local book, read normally, try a Premium-mode preview, or view pricing. A ReadMe! account is required to purchase or restore Premium and to use cloud sync and cross-device access.

Cloud accounts are not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and accept these Terms for you. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You may use the sign-in methods offered by ReadMe!.

3. Your books and content

You retain ownership of books and other content you import. You represent that you have the right to possess and use that content and will not use ReadMe! to infringe copyright, bypass digital-rights management, distribute unlawful content, or violate another person’s rights.

Local books stay on your device unless you choose cloud sync. When you choose sync, you give Spritz Holding LLC and its service providers a limited licence to host, copy, transmit, and process that content only as needed to provide, secure, migrate, or delete the sync service. We do not claim ownership of your books.

Supported formats and the features available for a particular format may change as the app evolves. A format being importable does not guarantee that every reading mode can interpret every layout, script, image, or accessibility feature in that file.

4. Free reading and the Premium preview

The bundled sample book is fully unlocked. A free reader may import supported books, open them, read them in normal mode, keep them in the local library, and retain basic reading positions and bookmarks.

Each imported book receives three active minutes of Premium-mode evaluation. The timer runs only while a Premium reading mode is actively playing in the foreground; it does not run during normal reading, while paused, while covered by settings or the paywall, or while the app is in the background. When the preview ends, the Premium mode pauses and the book remains open and readable normally at the saved place.

ReadMe! may use a stable content fingerprint so deleting and re-importing the same book does not create another preview. Circumventing preview or entitlement controls is prohibited.

5. Premium, subscriptions, and existing Lifetime access

Premium unlocks unlimited use of ReadMe!’s differentiated focus and speed-reading modes with imported books. The app presents available monthly and yearly subscriptions using Apple’s localised price and subscription period. The price and renewal terms shown by Apple at confirmation control.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renewal in Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Except where a refund is required by applicable law or App Store rules, all purchases are final and non-refundable. Apple manages billing, cancellations, and any refund requests available under its rules and applicable law.
  • If Apple offers or displays a trial or promotional term, its displayed eligibility and conversion terms control.

Lifetime Premium is no longer offered for sale. Existing Lifetime Premium purchasers retain access to Premium features for as long as ReadMe! offers Premium functionality. Eligible existing Lifetime Premium purchases and active subscriptions can be restored through the app using verified App Store transaction history and, where applicable, prior entitlement evidence. Existing Lifetime Premium purchasers are not required to subscribe again.

6. Optional cloud sync

Cloud sync stores books you choose, their metadata, exact reading locators, bookmarks, revisions, and entitlement/account information. The current default cloud quota is shown in your account (initially 300 MB). We may change quotas prospectively for operational or commercial reasons, with appropriate notice if a change materially affects existing data.

Sync is designed for continuity, not as your only archival backup. Keep your own lawful source copy. Network, provider, malformed-file, conflict, or compatibility issues may delay or prevent sync. We will use reasonable care, but no online storage service is immune from interruption or loss.

7. Acceptable use

You may not misuse the Service, attempt unauthorised access, probe or disrupt its security, upload malicious code, automate abusive traffic, impersonate another person, claim someone else’s purchase, resell access, or use the Service unlawfully. We may limit or suspend cloud access when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, secure the Service, comply with law, or protect other readers. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

8. ReadMe! software and intellectual property

ReadMe!, its original software, visual design, wordmarks, and supplied materials are owned by or licensed to Spritz Holding LLC and are protected by intellectual-property law. Subject to these Terms and Apple’s rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app and website for their intended purpose. This licence does not transfer ownership of ReadMe! or restrict rights you have under applicable open-source licences.

Names and marks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.

9. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on service providers and may link to third-party sites. Their services and terms are separate from ours. We are not responsible for third-party content or conduct, but this does not limit any responsibility that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Spritz, BeeLine, Focus, and Read Along are reading features presented inside ReadMe!; using those modes does not send book text to a separate reading provider.

10. Account and content deletion

You may delete individual synced books or delete your account inside the iOS app. Account deletion removes cloud account data and account-bound Premium records as described in the Privacy Policy. Books, reading positions, bookmarks, and preview records stored only on your device remain until you remove them locally.

Deleting a ReadMe! account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage or cancel the subscription separately in Apple Account settings. Deleting the account does not erase App Store purchase history. Eligible purchases may be restored to a newly created account, but a new account does not restore deleted cloud books or cloud reading data.

11. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may improve, add, remove, or change features and supported formats. We may update these Terms for product, security, legal, or operational reasons. We will post the new effective date and provide appropriate notice before a material change takes effect. Changes do not retroactively remove a purchase entitlement that remains valid under its purchase terms, and they do not override mandatory consumer rights.

12. Availability and warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted availability, that every book will render perfectly, or that every defect will be corrected immediately. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer guarantees.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spritz Holding LLC and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, opportunity, or data, arising from the Service. This limitation does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that law does not allow us to limit. Your mandatory local consumer rights remain unaffected.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in Utah may hear disputes, except that this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections or courts available under the consumer law of the country or state where you live.

15. General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary and the remaining Terms will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, financing, reorganisation, or sale, subject to applicable law and continued protection of your rights. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable purchase terms form the agreement for the Service.
